Doesn't heat up properly

Update: The seller never got in touch with the issues I experienced. This item will be returned. Purchase at your own risk. This thing has been plugged in for the past seven hours or so with a temperature set at 90 degrees. He will not leave 78°. I followed all the instructions but the temperature did not rise. Hopefully I'll send it back for a replacement unless someone on the seller's side wishes to be contacted about this.

Home scorpion… for heating mats

He used to wander around trying to find the warmest spot. Now it just rests on the rocks near the ground because the heating mat is under the terrarium. Here's a short video of him eating a cricket. It's bright orange because we did some flagstone work and the workers used the fluorescent orange paint as a guide. As they left for the day, this bright orange scorpion stood at our gate. We knew he would be a target in that color, so we made him our pet. I say he, maybe she. It's been almost a…

Will not work for 20 gallon terrarium

Thermostat works great. Reads the temperature accurately. This is where the good ends for us. This unit was used in a 20 gallon ribbon snake terrarium with wood bedding. The terrarium had about two to three inches of wood padding, and the best we could get with padding under the terrarium was about four or five degrees above ambient. We covered the top of the tank to hold more heat, I thinned the bedding over the heater area so there wasn't as much insulation over the pillow and it didn't help.

  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Works but temp sensor not accurate

Terrarium heater/thermostat combo works but not as expected. I have never used a heating pad with a thermostat before. I got this because the thermostat is digital and thought I could fine tune the optimal temperature for my gecko. But no. I have the thermostat set to 90°F for the hot side, but the thermostat only shows 83°F to 86°F. My gecko is fine so I'm not overly concerned, but I don't want to point that out at any point Has the thermostat reached 90°F based on the thermostat probe. I used
