Replacing the impeller is easy.

Comes with a sachet of lubricant. In our case, the housing was not needed since only the impeller was old and deformed. Once the pump has been removed and flushed, installing a new impeller etc. is easy. The impeller is accessed behind the chopper blade and the protective grille, which must be removed from the motor shaft. The nut holding the chopper blade in place is easily removed by holding the blade with pliers while loosening the nut.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Works as promised - long studs need replacing

These service kits work well for this purpose. Unfortunately, Jabsco still uses brass bolts instead of stainless steel. The service kit contains only short studs. Do yourself a favor and order two long studs and replace them before they rust and break. The only downside to these pumps is that the impeller doesn't last very long. We use them about once a week for about five minutes and we have to service the pump and replace the impeller about every 12 months.

Fits perfectly with the old Jabsco 18590-1000 pump.

Our 2004 Beneteau's macerators had dried out and stopped sucking - ordered this kit for both and after quick delivery and easy reassembly* the pumps worked perfectly Raise and drain tanks. Be sure to wash liberally with biodegradable soap before first use. Using a small amount of rubber lube on the bottom seal will also keep it slightly longer than normal life. The use of copious amounts of WD40 on bolts and nuts is highly recommended during initial disassembly as the pump operates in a…

Beware of wrong kit numbers and bad support

I had some problems with the Macerator pump and after some research it obviously needed a rebuild. The attached data sheet and instruction manual included the kit number, which I then ordered. Using a new kit, I rebuilt the pump and found that there was no threaded outlet on the pump housing. Luckily the old pump housing was still functional and I reused it with new parts. I emailed Flojet and the person who replied simply told me I ordered the wrong kit even though I used their own kit/part…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Something else

This item will fit but if you are using a Flojet Macerator which fits perfectly it does not come with a pump discharge water hose connector. Obviously, this is another item that isn't in Revain. However, I was able to use my old model case by removing the seal from this item and replacing the seal and bracket and all other parts of my old case, which worked great. I simply don't need a pump body with a hose connection without water. The photo shows a non-water hose outlet so it's not the fault…
