Poorly crafted Best in Computer Accessories & Peripherals

USB connector disconnected from cable on second use. Just very badly done. I'm going to send it back and get one from a different manufacturer.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Security

Worked flawlessly.: computer and accessories

j5create JCH471 worked flawlessly on my old HP Specter x360 Dual Boot (Win 10 1903 and Linux Ubuntu 1704 after I bought USB 3.0 male to USB 3.1 type had) Socket Converter C. The newer HP Specter x360 models have USB 3.1 Type-C ports.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • boring packaging

Good if you use the ethernet port

I was happy with this at first - I didn't buy it for the ethernet port, but for 3 USB 3.0 ports. However, when I plug it in, it turns off my wifi. And before anyone says anything, yes I installed the latest drivers from the web. It may be a device malfunction, but I'm left with a useless box.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Exchange availability

Could be better for computer accessories and peripherals

I purchased this item from Fry but felt the rating here was fair. This device has three "USB 3.0" or "USB 3.1 Gen 1" ports and one Gigabit Ethernet port; This is enough to connect low-power items. When I tried to connect a 3TB external drive to anything else, it kept getting connected and disconnected quickly. I've found that it stays stable with the 5V power supply plugged into the available hole. There are many cheaper multiport adapters that work just as well, if not better.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Good but not great

Does not provide power to the USB-C cable.

This does not turn off the power to the USB-C port when you plug 5 volts into it. this is a bed I assume it only powers 3 USB 3.0 plugs. This can be opened, but remove the sticker on the side with the cable and take out 2 screws. Then he slid out of the fuselage. So I solder the wire from the 5V input from the power supply to the red wire on the USB-C cable. I just melted the red wire. He fixed that so it is now powered by the USB cable. They had no junk, everything is ready. Stick it on andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Some issues

This device works well with the new MacBook Pro (Late 2016) AFTER the appropriate drivers are installed. It doesn't show up at all until the drivers are installed. The most important thing for me was that the gigabit port could transfer true 1Gb/s after encountering a rather unreliable USB to Ethernet adapter. I will obviously say that this device is a standard 3.0 controller chip that only has a USB-C cable at the end instead of USB-A. That's not a problem, you just have to know. It does NOTโ€ฆ
