I received this for a project - I see it will be useful for many others!

I got this because I was pretty sure the insulation in the walls of our house was either missing or just not working properly and I wanted to see if there were any cold spots on the outside walls . .Well, I was wrong. The internal temperature of the outer walls is damn close to the temperature of the inner walls. This saved me the trouble of cutting through the drywall to look around. Wide-range thermometer

I have a fireplace and an oven with various pots that get very hot. My old thermometer had a maximum temperature measurement range of 75-600 degrees. When trying to measure the temperature in the stove, I constantly found that the heat gun I had kept saying "Hi" and going to the max. This new one gives me fairly accurate temperature readings, being most accurate around the 350 range of -600 degrees and the much less accurate 0 to 300 and over 900 range.
