too sensitive: Electrical

I rarely write reviews and thought it was time to serve the community: I've had many different types of these testers since they first appeared in the 80's. This one is the most cumbersome and maybe has too many features that bother me. A red high voltage warning graphic was displayed on the USB cable, this may be a defect and not all testers. The instructions are useless and weird. I bought this based on the reviews and I can't understand why it's above 4 stars. I can think of at least 2…

What I love most about the

I keep a few of these testers in my power tool box. The other uses round batteries which is overpriced to me so the one that uses 3xa batteries was what I was looking for as it worked well and the battery type sold me.

Fixed my Christmas lights

Bought this tester to troubleshoot Christmas lights. I had several strings of lights and only half the bulbs lit up. There were too many lightbulbs to use the old method of changing one lightbulb at a time. After seeing a method of testing lamps with an AC tester on You Tube, I bought an HT100 tester. It took about 15 minutes to isolate the broken bulb in each string of lights. Very cool. The tester is well built, works great, and costs about the same as 2 bites of Christmas tree lights. I've…

Came with 2 AAA batteries already installed and they were dead. One of them was filled with acid. I put in two new batteries and was able to turn on the device. Big problem: The instructions don't make sense and are clearly written by someone who doesn't speak English.
