🔍 Precision Steel Squares Set - Kaufhof ASS-5535, Pack of 4 Pieces Review

All Squares Aren't Square. They're cheap, so they're a good buy. However, I bought draftsman's triangles to test the squares and one of the squares was slightly broken. These Mach squares are not easy to correct, or I just don't know how to do it.

Very good set of squares at a super reasonable price. These angles are made of stainless steel, come in a beautiful wooden case and are oil coated. I compared them to the well-known very accurate Starrett C435 square and found no noticeable error from a true square. They are made in India. It is very convenient that there are so many sizes in the store.

I keep a set of these tools in my tool box and use them regularly when setting up lathes or mills. The four different sizes are very handy depending on what kind of interference I want to set up. As others have said, they're not entirely accurate, but very useful in situations where disabling them isn't a big deal.

Everything is fine. It looks like a nice set but the blades aren't square. I tested them with several squares and plates and there was always a thin line of light. Also, there were large visible ridges! Luckily we have a grinder in the shop so I was able to fix it. If you don't need precision (or don't have access to a surface grinder) I suggest going for a better model. As my boss says, "If there are no numbers, it's not worth five bucks."

I ordered these hoping they were square enough, arrived quickly, nice box, everything looks fine. Wipe off the motor oil, check my block 123 for squareness and none of them were square. There is a noticeable gap in each of the 4 sizes. They seem well made and built for heavy use, but unless they're boxy they're of little use to me. I already have a lot of non-square things.
