Issues Electronics - External Components

Screen turns on and off randomly when connected via a switch. With a direct connection 0 problems. Edit: flicker problem solved - somehow it was my own displayport cable. I would give this a 5/5 except that there is no power adapter included or the polarity description is really annoying. (Appears to be positive polarity for DC)

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Useless Features

Update: USB and video bandwidth on the second half of the device has died after 13 months. This is no longer a switch, just a relay. Original Review: I use this KVM to switch between a work laptop and a PC. My UHD monitor loves the DisplayPort input, so I really *wanted* to like this product. The good first - video throughput, quality, and switching are excellent. No flicker, no lag, and I can run UHD at 120Hz. AMD FreeSync works great with this switch while gaming, which I wasn't expecting…

Desktop Switcher: Computer Components

This device connects two separate computers with a single monitor, keyboard and mouse so you can switch between them without turning everything off and transferring to another computer.

Pros

This is a KVM switch

The unit works decently but I had to use the cables that came with it instead of the DP 1.4 cables that I have. There was a slight flickering of the video feed, but it might have been a configuration. On a desk, the device is a little awkward as you need to be able to push a button on the front of the device, but the monitor output is on the front. It also cannot be placed under a monitor or anything like that. See the FAQ if you are using a USB 2.0+ keyboard that needs to be plugged into a 3.0

G-Sync AND 144Hz! the best in computers and accessories

I really like that this supports gSync and 144hz. I had some concerns about the incredible price. But I said what the hell and did it. I'm glad I did! The only thing I'm having trouble with is figuring out how to get the MMO mouse to work. I bought a power supply as this KVM supports it but doesn't come with it. The device runs via USB, but I wanted to be sure that 144Hz would work. I haven't tried it without a power supply yet. Also, I sometimes had to switch between both PCs to make sure…

Doesn't support gaming mouse or gaming keyboard

Keyboard and mouse ports don't mate with USB ports. If you connect a gaming keyboard or gaming mouse, they only work as a standard keyboard and mouse. Very disappointing. I had to plug my gaming gear into the front ports and now I don't have any free ports for anything else. I could get a USB hub, but I'd prefer the device to properly support USB devices in the keyboard and mouse ports.

works great for a display; not for extended display

I bought this KVM to share a 4K@30Hz monitor between two Windows 10 laptops with DisplayPort video connections. I want to extend each laptop's display to a shared monitor and switch back and forth. Issue: When switching, all windows on the second display move back to the primary. This is because KVM does not support EDID emulation. It would be nice if I mirrored the main display of every laptop. I replaced it with another KVM that supports EDID emulation and got the behavior I wanted: the…
