This is very useful. bought this as my wife used a fork and knife and then touched the meat to check the meat was cooked properly and indirectly injured herself. So now she won't undercook or overcook any food. Just note that the included spare battery comes in handy when you open the battery compartment.

It works well and is easy to use and easy to read but I should have bought a different thermometer because the test sample is not stackable and a bit disappointing. If you don't mind this feature, you will probably like this product. It's well made and the price can't be beat. Would recommend to others.

This thermometer is fast, if not as fast as advertised, and fairly accurate (same as older but slower counterparts). My wife uses it to make candy where temperature is critical. I got my new thermometer today and so far it's great. I tested it with ice water and another thermometer and it showed perfectly accurate readings. I love that this thermometer is waterproof and I don't have to worry about spreading germs in the kitchen with a meat thermometer that could have bacteria on it. I had to replace a meat thermometer a few months old. I paid a lot of money for it and it looked fancy. But I didn't realize the old one I bought wasn't waterproof. After a few washes it died! I bought this thermometer to replace 2 previous digital thermometers that broke. It's a lot bigger than I expected - and that's okay - it's very easy to read. It registers the temperature very quickly and appears to be very accurate. I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could. It's a bit slower than I was hoping for, but still faster than a traditional thermometer. The little black pencil cap, while handy for holding the thermometer, is small and I lose it easily. The display is nice and big and I appreciate the light.
