I just started crocheting and bought this as my first crochet - I have knitting experience and am very picky about my knitting needles. * This hook is still my favorite! Very comfortable in the hand, the yarn is easy to put on the needle. Also has a tapered end which I prefer. Knitters' pride never loses heart; I would buy again

This is a very nice hook and quite ergonomic. My only issue is that it doesn't look like aluminum on top, it looks like brushed nickel painted plastic and I thought the grip would be a smoother plastic. Silicone is nice to the touch, but when knitting, it breaks the yarn. So I was hoping this would finally end my search for a good hook with a really "smooth plastic" handle, but the search continues.

I was having trouble finding a 9mm hook so I was very excited when I stumbled across this one. However, the hook material is more of a matte plastic than the shiny metal I was thinking in the picture and it doesn't slide as smoothly as I would like. Luckily I haven't had to use it for my project for a long time, but I think if I need to use it for a bigger project I'll probably have to buy another one because this one would be too frustrating.
