I just received this surface skimmer in the mail and straight away it looks very well packaged but one of the teeth was already broken right out of the box. It's a pity, but it doesn't matter. The skimmer is now set up and has been running for about 6 hours and it's doing its job perfectly! If you are reading this then you probably have that smoky/oily film on the surface of your water. This skimmer is exactly what you need. I've lived with that for years. Recently I bought a circulation head and aimed it at the surface to get rid of the film. This helped a lot with the movement of the water in the tank, but the film was still there.
