Top notch product!: Linear measurement

Works like a charm! I bought this to replace an old one that wasn't holding "stop" when measured. The new one does this without the need for a physical lock button. It fits easily in my small hand. I can easily read measurements without my glasses!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

Sturdy, easy to use

Felt embarrassed after breaking 2 tape measures. Then I remembered how cheap my company was and bought it. This one is actually durable, it will probably last until I lose it. The band is quite strong and can stay upright for 3-5 feet. The locking function is also good. If necessary, it fits well enough in the pocket of men's pants.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Weight

Fatal error. Switch to a trusted brand.

Achilles heel. The same great feature we all love is powered by a brittle plastic rod that breaks at the hinge after 10 or 15 uses. As you can see my tape measure is in near perfect condition, hardly used. I took it apart, and once you get all that useless broken junk out, it works like a regular self-loading block with no buttons, so it's not just junk when you take it apart and gut it. -Aaron

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Only available in black

Self-locking won't lock

This would be a great tape measure if the Revolutionary Design self-locking mechanism worked properly. Unfortunately, the tape is not held longer than 12 inches and is slowly retracting. There doesn't seem to be any way to adjust the tension to keep it in place. I remember it working better when I first bought it, but it has since seen very light wear well below what is considered normal wear and tear, so I cannot recommend this product.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Price that beats the piggy bank

Pretty good, best measuring and marking tools

I gave this tape measure 3 stars. The reason I did this was because it didn't have cm measurements, which I found very strange. There's usually both, so that was annoying. It still works as intended. Nothing wrong with that, I like that it locks as soon as you pull it out. Then you have to press the button to make it come back. It's great not to cut yourself on the metal. Generally good, just I'd prefer something that has all sorts of measurements on a real tape.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Some cons

Super useful tool for measuring and marking tools

I'm not a builder or handyman, for various reasons I just needed a good tape measure and this one is very useful and high quality. The locking function is very useful. I used to use an old fashioned tailor's tape measure and had to roll it up each time after use which was quite a hassle, but now I can just press the button on my tape measure and voila! This is a rental for me. It's also quite hefty, not flimsy at all. I expect it to last a long time and bring many benefits.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Great feel and look, weak holding power.

The strap itself is very nice. The markings are very legible and the coating is pleasant to the touch. The auto lock feature was the reason I bought this device. Unfortunately it doesn't hold up very well. This is very easy to fix if Comelon would be very careful. In my frame shop, I prefer self-locking tape measures. I would buy a dozen of these if they really stopped the tape instead of slowing it down. a spring that prevents the button from being pressed at the top. Replacing that spring…

Pros
  • The button allows you to gently pull back the blade
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great value maybe?

I have been a furniture maker and carpenter for forty years. I don't care how much the roulette I like costs. I have several Stanley Leverlocks in my shop and I think one of them actually works as advertised. I just received this 16 inch tape and it works great. Definitely better than the Stanley out of the box, and the Stanley is four times the price. I have just ordered two more Komelon bands in metric and one in fractions. I'll be back in a few months to let you know how well they perform…

Pros
  • Nylon-coated blade for maximum durability
Cons
  • old

Works fine with a little tweak!

The first one I received didn't close well and I ended up getting the second (no return of the first!). I started to wonder if it was a design issue and opened up the back (three screws) and took a closer look. The rubber wedge that was supposed to hold the tape in place slipped a bit on one side that had a tab on the left. I cut off the small tab pictured on the right and now it snaps into place with no problem! In fact, it works even better with no game after blocking. I had this tape measure

Pros
  • Nub marks on the blade
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
