Great for small to medium sized phones but maybe not great for phablets

For the price this seems like a good product. However, my Galaxy Note 4 is in a UAG protective case and the Koomus mount is barely big enough to hold it. The clip size adjustment ratchet is a bit difficult to move and when I first tried to resize it I thought I broke it when one side came out fully. However, I adjusted it and attached it to the handlebars, where it stayed secure during my first 20-mile ride on tarmac and gravel. Regardless, I wish the product had a more defined tab, somethingโ€ฆ

Galaxy Note 4 users here

Just received on 06/16/2015. 3 stars until I ride my bike with it. Rain is expected in the next few days so check out the full review. For now I installed it on my bike with 1" handlebars. The installation was very easy. No tools are required and the installation literally took 1 minute after reading the 3 steps. If your handlebar is less than 1 inch long , it doesn't hold your handlebars. As for the security of the mount: it sits snugly and securely on the handlebars. It looks like it takesโ€ฆ

  • Large and bulky

Frustrating mount that just won't secure phone on uneven terrain

This mount will not hold your phone to your bike on any terrain other than flat roads. This mount has two main design problems. First, how to attach it to the handlebar or stem. It's a simple piece of rubber that you open up to attach to your handlebar or stem, and it relies on friction to stay in place. If you have smaller bars there is a rubber insert that reduces the diameter of the mount. I used this mount on a hybrid bike handlebar that required an insert. It's an absolute pain to installโ€ฆ

Great product for bikers

Updated review May 2015 (6 months later): After 6 months of almost daily use of the phone on a bike, one of the levers holding the phone is a little torn compared to normal large volume , use it. I ride at least 4 times a week with large social bike groups for 2-4 hours straight, often on bad roads/trails, and then another 3-10 times a week solo. He's still holding the phone, but it's not safe to continue using it. I emailed Koomus on a Saturday afternoon and on Monday morning they sent me aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Useless features

This mount "snaps" onto the handlebars. (You first wrap a thin rubber friction pad around the handlebars, then wrap a slightly thicker plastic pad around the friction pad, and then press the clip onto the pad.) The clip is open at the bottom (the side away from the phone). cradle). In other words, there is no 360-degree mount on the handlebars. I am tempted to call this a design flaw as the entire post could very well come loose from the handlebars during a bumpy ride (and this has happened toโ€ฆ
