Offset router bolt holes

As can be seen in the photos the pre-drilled holes to attach the advertised Bosch router do not match. I am incredibly frustrated and will be calling Craig tomorrow to hopefully resolve this issue. This item was purchased in April 2021. I will update this review based on my experience with Kreg Support.

Easy to Install - Templates

This is a well done insert. Mine was perfectly straight. I installed it in a homemade table saw extension made out of 1/2" MDF glued to 1/2" plywood, framed in 1x2" poplar wood. I used the Kreg Aligner Kit (separate product) so I got the slotted insert didn't have to router.I followed the instructions that came with the board.Apart from a template malfunction (double sided tape defective my fault) which caused the router to slip off when using the edge cleaning bit I had no problems and it wasโ€ฆ

This FITS Bosch 1617EVS (just pay attention to the instructions)

So at first I was like other reviewers with the Bosch 1617EVS who thought it wasn't pre-drilled for the Bosch 1617EVS. My mistake, and I assume others did too, was trying to line up the holes with the router plate. This is the black plastic piece that sits on top of the router's base. You must remove this base plate and attach the plate directly to the router's metal base. The holes match perfectly. I hope this helps anyone new to woodworking like me. I would also like to say that Kreg'sโ€ฆ

Great record! for templates

I installed the router table extension on my table saw but didn't have a mounting plate. I didn't want to build either. This disc solved that problem quite well. A quick recap of how I set it up: place the plate on the table (there are no holes on the table at this point) and center/square the plate where I want it. Make a full outline around the perimeter with a pencil. Take out the router and place the base plate on this plate, then adjust the depth of cut so that it just touches the tableโ€ฆ

Unsatisfactory Kreg Tools Product

This router table insert does not live up to Kreg's reputation and leaves a number of things unsatisfactory. First, the insert is capped, rising 3 1/2 inches from the entry side to .007" above the edge of the insert and remaining flat 5 inches from the center of the drill to the exit edge of the insert. where it gradually drops to 0.008 inches below. Back to front, the crown is 0.004 inches above the surface at the edges of the plate. This might be perfectly acceptable for some carpenters, butโ€ฆ
