Not as good as I'd like Kreg to be

These HD bolts bite hard and pull hard. However, about 90% of the Burrill 2x4 discs I've used them on have snapped while tightening the bolt. I use a Kreg HD jig and chisel, set it up properly and have tried shallower depths but they keep splitting the board. Research, but I have a feeling they need more tapping or "self-drilling" devices that might be built into the screw. All in all a disappointing experience as I generally love my Kreg.

  • Confident

  • Doesn't fit all

Work big or come home for power and hand tools

These screws are the HD version of the Kreg HD mount. When working with wood > 2x4 I recommend them. They are much larger and have more threads to connect to the wood. This is a huge improvement compared to regular blue coated Kreg screws. My only concern was the price. This increases the stability of the project, but also increases the overall cost of the project. I ended up shaking my head and paying them as I was building a 4x4 table and wanted them to be as strong as possible for as long

Outdoor projects made easy!

If you thought the original Kreg clamp was nirvana for indoor utility projects, a larger kit for 2x construction wood projects will send you to the moon. The combination is the most useful product for beginners of all kinds - build kennels, decks, benches, work areas, sheds, pergolas - and use these screws. They work better than regular wood screws - the unthreaded portion near the head pulls two pieces of material STRONG together. Success brings more success. Once you understand how the Kreg…

  • High marks for support and durability from testers

Essential for my workshop but quality is dropping a bit

I've tried about 400 of these tools over the last few months. They are my 2 wood construction screw. These are powerful and versatile screws. I've also used them for non-pocketed holes where a heavy duty pan head screw comes in handy, e.g. B. when attaching large roles. throw away. The most common defect is that the brown protective layer on the square slot is too thick, preventing the screwdriver from entering the slot and getting a good grip. Considering how expensive those screws are, I'm…

  • Good product for the price

  • Only available in white

Best Screws for 2x4

Kreg System These screws are designed for connecting 2x4 or other large woods for large projects. I have often used them in building garden objects, indoor shelves and so on. They work great. They've never failed and I've used them on a variety of projects since they first came out a few years ago (10+, maybe 20+ years ago). I have used other Kreg screws to work with the case and they are excellent too. I have two Kreg jigs and have used them extensively for years. Once the 2x4s are connected…

A strong connection is worth the extra cost

When using two materials, HD screws are required. I used a box and a half and made 3 raised mahogany pots. They hold 2x4s and 2x6s securely on a 4x4 rack. Using blind holes instead of simple butt joints and screws may take more time, but it's definitely worth it. Combined with the Kreg HD jig I was able to create a durable product with hidden pocket holes that is just a joy to use. My only concern is that I couldn't find this screw at any hardware store (neither HD nor Lowes). . When I finished

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • There are problems
