I purchased this fan on May 20, 2012. The battery just burned out on August 31, 2012. Not quite what I expected. While the fan was running, it was very quiet and beautiful to look at. The fan performance and the air produced with it was absolutely bad. I don't mind fan noise as long as it doesn't make me sweat like a fat kid in a bakery. I like this fan very much, but the lifespan leaves a lot to be desired. I have 3 of them, and out of 3, 20 of them show problems after a little less than a year of use (have to start them manually after switching them on, sometimes they won't turn on etc.). Well, to be fair, they get used all day, every day. However, I believe that their lifespan should be more than a year. The two problematic remotes still work, but not as well as we'd like. First I ordered this fan on Monday evening and received it on Saturday morning. So I was really impressed with the speed of delivery, especially since it was free shipping. I was a little disappointed that it was NOT the fan designed in the ad. The base was solid and didn't have any holes (not a big issue. The funny thing is this fan is exactly the same as Target. This is a decent fan for its size and price. Pros: The metal base is better than the plastic base of other fans. Seems solid so far, but I don't have any kids or large pets in the house to trip over.
