Self Centering woodworking dowel jig,more suitable for creating different wood pin joints. Okay Centering Dowel Tool

One of the cheapest dowel clips. This doesn't work out of the box as others have mentioned (as expected). The middle part is not centered. It must be adjusted by loosening the central screw. After this setting it works as intended. I think I could deduct a star, but the price is right.

  • The tool has marked guide lines for perfect alignment. The tool has a centering adjustment on the side of the tool to center when needed.

LAPOND Step Drill Guide with Self-Centering Dowel Nozzle

Stepped drill bush with LAPOND centering dowel suitable. When delivered, you have to adjust the centering mechanism, which is annoying, but not the end of the world. If you don't adjust it, you will end up with uneven seams. This will be refined, but may also solve the problem in the beginning. Another problem I have is that you can only drill one hole at a time. Most joints require at least two joints, so repositioning is a must. It moves pretty fast, but I'd like to be able to make two bigโ€ฆ

Garbage. Don't waste money.

box, did not work (which I expected). The marks you use to align the dowel line were 1/8 inch off center. So if you use this indicator and straighten your boards, your marks will be 1/8 inch off center. So I disassembled it and used the Incra ruler to re-cut all the lines and crossed out the existing marks. Fixing that was fine, but I can't fix the cause of the star. The middle part is not parallel to the faces. There is too much dirt in the holes that the silver pins go through, so the entireโ€ฆ

Heavy duty mount but if your kit ends up with a bad socket read my review on how to fix it.

This unit appears to be of good quality and weighs approximately 2 pounds. It comes with two 1/4 sockets, two 5/16 sockets and two 3/8 sockets. My set had a bushing that would not thread fully into the jig. If this happens to you, secure the channel with pliers so you have a good grip on the sleeve. Wrap something around the sleeve first if you don't want to scratch it. Then you don't have to unscrew the sleeve, just move it clockwise to fully insert the sleeve. Then counterclockwise to fullyโ€ฆ
