Hey specify the size on the ad, I should have ordered it to find out it was 2.5" (I needed 2.0". ). Then I ordered an X-Pipe Wesdon 2.0 and what is the difference. I mean the polished hard SS vs the stamped crap Lawson comes out with! Order Wesdon and be happy.
Although the X-tube has 2.5" tubing on both ends, it shrinks to 1 7/8" when the tubing is welded to the body. Wanted to use it to replace a resonator that tapers to 2 inches. The fact that they are narrowed down to 1 7/8 inches makes them unusable. They look like a great alternative to Magnaflow, but don't be fooled, you get what you pay for.
Overall this X pipe is great, the one I got had to use an exhaust pipe expander to slightly open each of the splined joints to accommodate the 2.5". -to fit pipe I used 4 2.5 inch stainless steel walker clamps to hold them together. The quality is excellent and 100% stainless steel.
I put this on a 2018 Jeep GC with a 5.7 liter V8 engine. This caused terrible vibration when accelerating from idle. Build quality issue. Where the 2.5" pipe enters the X, the pipe is concave to about 2" which traps the exhaust pulses in the X. See image. I had to cut it out and weld an H shaped piece of pipe in its place. The work cost me an additional $150. Very disappointed with the quality and the annoyance it caused me. It might work better on your car. If you want to remove the muffler…
