🚗 Silicone License Plate Frame: Universal American Auto Holder, Rust-Proof, Rattle-Proof, Weather-Proof with Drainage Holes - Black Cover Review

This is almost what I was hoping for. Completely made of silicone, no plastic, small protective edge. It is tight both vertically (the license plate fits but needs to be inserted carefully and on the last few millimeters with a hammer) and horizontally. I've attached a photo to show the latter, you can see my license plate sticking out from the side, it's actually in the middle and pulling down on either side, but I couldn't capture that in the photo. I think it should be 5mm longer.

We had a white plastic frame on our plate that turned yellow and looked pretty ugly. I took it off and just used the bare panel which looked fine until the car wash started warping it. After three straightening episodes I was looking for a new frame. This frame is stiff and heavy enough to prevent flexing and vibration, and looks great without obscuring anything that's displayed on the record. Reliability will show over time, but I expect good results from the build.

I bought this to dampen the rattling in the rear tailgate license plate on my Ford Expedition, but I liked the slim profile and snug fit of the license plate, which I use on all my vehicles bought , including my truck shown in the photo above. So the reason you get a plate like this is for the looks - you want a smooth clean frame around your plate. Well, my UT plate doesn't fit. It was VERY difficult to fit into the frame and when I did, the frame was sticking out on both sides no matter what you do. (And yes, that silver stripe can be seen from afar on my black bumper!) I bought these frames for a 2020 Hyundai Tuscon. Unfortunately, upon receipt I found that there were no holes for the front panel. But it has nothing to do with the product or the seller. I like that these frames are more like a window envelope. One end of the frame is open and the panel can be easily inserted. I think because it's silicone it won't rattle in my car like some metal frames. I also like that the bezel on the frame is small enough to only cover about 3/8 inch of the circumference.
