Great when used in combos.

bought together with moving robots. Not sure if my 5 year old son would like it too, but he preferred the loud clicky gizmos setup. This kit lacks sprockets, which allows for more interesting designs. So combining it with the robots in Gears was more rewarding. I can see how the spring can break, it's glued a bit loose but works fine. Either make it stronger or add more feathers to the kit so they stay useful and are less frustrating for the young ones when they break. The parts are a little…

The instruction manual is blurry and colorless; weak springs

I purchased this extra set specifically for the feathers, propeller and colorful stickers. I was disappointed that the instructions for use are suitable for adults and the instructions are vague. The images are usable, but not in color or in a child-friendly format. Each plug type has its own color. The kit provides it for color coding. I was expecting more of a Lego and Duplo guide. In addition, it is very difficult to separate plugs and extensions to change the configuration. Worst of all…

Funny, creative and educational. (and no batteries required =))

I bought this to complement the Gears learning resources! Transmission! Transmission! Super set (150 items) <link below> for my 4 year old son. He was 3 years old when I bought the Super Set. The parts are very well made and durable. The Super Set (link above) is perfect for a 3 year old. This gave him a lot of gear and it was easy for him to learn how to use/create new setups.
