I bought this for my 55 gallon tank that has a dozen comets. The aquarium is green with algae and the algal acid doesn't seem to help much. Tried this 5w light and wow! It took about a week for the pea soup to become crystal clear, but it turned out exactly as it should. I changed the filter daily (I just used pieces of cloth and hand washed them) to remove dead algae. I highly recommend this wonderful little UV sterilizer.

Device works well. The power supply is made quite cheaply. I used this device to add UV light to my air filter so I ended up taking this guy apart to hook it up. I used several of these to make the sanitary chamber. It only takes 1-2 minutes to inactivate all single-stranded RNA virus (e.g. coronavirus) for 4 of them inactivated in a small box. I used this light correctly - I put it in an outboard stern filter NOT where the fish are swimming. I apply it for an hour one day, then for an hour the next day. About halfway through that hour my husband saw 2 of our 6 fish swimming on the side.
