Levition 32120 for accessories and consumables

I cannot rate this product. Apparently it's not for home use, only for business. The description on the product page is not very clear. It's not like a regular home assistant could do the installation. It comes with instructions but appears to be for a professional installer. It's a good looking device, probably with all the bells and whistles you want or need in this type of product. But I would research it further before buying if I'm not going to use it in a business setting.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Upgradeable

My electrician advised me to get a whole house surge protector. It was difficult for a person completely unfamiliar with such things to understand what to take. I did a lot of research on the internet, which I didn't find particularly helpful as the descriptions aren't meant to be understandable to the average layperson. I tried contacting Leviton and an online electrician to explain what I need and that I'm looking to install this in a small apartment building. None of them pushed me into…

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Discontinued

Was it too much for my home?

I feel better after the installation. Before we installed it, lightning struck near our house. He fried a few things, including what was on the surge protector. While researching this product, I found that its purpose is to dissipate most of the surge, so your surge protectors don't have to do as much work. I didn't have to use any relay wires and the installation was pretty easy. forward to my electrician. When installing in residential areas, you need to make sure you have space on the panel.

  • Accessories and consumables

Very good surge protection

Installed by an electrician a year ago. This surge protector is designed for ANY single phase 120/240 volt power supply that is universal for single family homes in the United States except for some large mansions which sometimes have three phase power. I can't imagine why an electrician would say that this unit is not only suitable for domestic single family use or commercial use. (Some large apartment buildings are also three phase, typically 120/208 volts. These are typically large apartment

  • Electronics

  • Requires an outlet

Installed and running in our only residential building!

On 06/20/12 I did a little research on Levitron 32120-1, overvoltage protection panel. I took it to our local energy board last weekend when I attended our annual meeting and spoke to some electricians there. I have been told that this product should work fine in my home as it also has a single phase 120 volt line. I was also told that this surge protection plate is similar to Cadillac among surge protection plates. My house is pretty typical, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms etc and it is not connected

Pros
  • overvoltage protection
Cons
  • weight
