Lexmark 17E0285 Z12 Inkjet Printer: Efficient Printing Solution for Professional Results Review

This is a nice little printer that works great with Windows. . . it's fairly slow, which is common for most inkjet printers, and graphics options are limited. The main problem I have is that it only works with Windows but is useless for UNIX or Linux as there are no drivers that allow the OS to communicate with the printer. However, for most households or computers, this should be enough. It's pretty hard to beat the price anyway.

I got this printer a while ago so I definitely had enough time to test it. It prints images VERY VERY slowly and when it finally comes out years later it has tiny lines in the image and it's very noisy. When I printed out the Yosemite photo I took, there was snow on the mountains and when it came out there were little red dots added by the printer that weren't part of my original. Recommended: People who urgently need a printer. Score of 10: 4 1/2

About a year ago I got this as a used free printer from someone who was struggling with it and had a newer printer. This printer just sat in her garage. Still looked good. It turned out that this Lexmark Z12 needed a new ink cartridge and the ink cartridge was stuck to the side as it hadn't been used for a long time. 1 of Lexmark's first Lexmark printers and even works with Windows 8.1, although Lexmark says it not only downloads drivers for the Lexmark z35, works with no problems and only requires 1 cartridge and they sell cheap here and there Ebay brand new, never refilled. I only buy black ink in bulk as well as colored ink. A $10 printer can't go wrong! If necessary, take 2 new spare parts with you.

bought this email printer didn't want to use up my photo cartridge on my z53. great printer, prints great. Ordered from raintrade, received in a few days, connected. I didn't even have to download the software since my Lexmark Z53 was already installed. Windows XP found new hardware and did the rest.

I would highly recommend the Lexmark Z12 printer to anyone. This printer prints text very well and prints at a price anyone can afford. Lexmark stands by its products.
