Update (01/15/2020): After 2 weeks in non-switching mode the tree has strange flickering in every color. Standing with your back to a tree while the tree "flashes" makes it look like someone is taking a picture with a flash. It happens all the time, every three minutes. Downgrade from 4 to 3 stars. I bought 2 of these for my new office. Super disappointed in them. The first tree lights up well and works well except it flashes for a second every few minutes which is very frustrating and no wing nuts were included to attach the base. The second came with all the components, but the two lights on the tree keep changing color randomly. I bought this for my bedroom. I sleep with my toddler so I wanted to use it as a night light. He loves trees. I didn't know it didn't dim. It's not, and it's LIGHT.
