Good product! - Camping & Hiking

This tarp was used on a recent 4 day camping trip. Super light and easy to pack. The tarp is perfect for my two Hennessy hammocks. It rained last night, but we stayed completely dry. After the sun came up we shook the raindrops off the tarpaulin and let it hang in the sun and in 10 minutes it was dry.

Not waterproof, waterproof. Good value for money.

This tarpaulin is good value. It's not waterproof, it's waterproof. In heavy rain it gets wet. We had 4 nights of rain on the trek, one night got wet. The hammock under that tarpaulin was damp enough to soak a sleeping bag in the morning. We will treat this tarpaulin with a water-repellent agent and continue to use it. 4 nights of rain and only one wet sleeping bag, the trip was a complete success and we recommend the tarp as an inexpensive tarp.

Fantastic value! suitable for camping and hiking

This is a very good tarp for twenty four dollars! I usually use it over the eno hammock. Late last summer we had a terrible squall (park staff suggested we evacuate) over Long Island Sound while camping on the North Shore and I was afraid to return to my hammock after it destroyed our entire camp. Everything was DRY! A lucky tourist here. If I were to be picky I'd say the lines were a bit iffy, but it comes with nice thick aluminum bars and a decent pocket for stuff. Buy it!

Fantastic quality for this price range

Recently bought this cover for hunting/camping. The tarpaulin arrived a day early and is very light and appears to be very durable. It packs and unpacks easily and folds into a neat little package. I used it to hang over my hammock and it held up really well. This is by far one of the best lightweight hiking tents you can buy in this price range. My only complaint is that the ropes/zip ties that come with the tarp are quite poor quality so I would recommend bringing a spool or cord. with you…

REAL REVIEW for outdoor recreation

REAL REVIEW. I bought a second one because that tarp wobbles. It always seems to rain when I hike, so I installed it anyway. I mainly use it over my tent because my rain cover doesn't go all the way down. This small canvas bag is very light and above all extremely durable. Comes with streamers and bright orange steaks so you don't stumble. I've been caught in heavy rain many times and have always stayed dry. Although a few years later I treated it with a "dry march” impregnation, not out of…

A cheap and light alternative to a heavy tarp.

Cheap lightweight alternative to heavy tarps. I bought these last minute for a multi day river trip after the weather forecast added the possibility of a thunderstorm and I was planning to sleep in a hammock. It's a good thing I did, because after arriving at camp the second night, a violent thunderstorm started coming through the mountains. I quickly draped the tarp over my Eno double jack with just a few seconds left. I lay in my hammock under this tarpaulin and the storm (with wind) hit the…

Good tarpaulin - good price!

I installed this in my backyard today and I have to say it's a good tarp for the money. Of course there are others that weigh a few grams less, but they all cost twice as much or more! A special feature of the trap I received is that it has 8 guy lines around the perimeter. The description reflects these 8 guy lines, but the picture above shows one at each corner and one might suggest one at each end of the ridgeline. Note, however, that there are 8 of them, so you can choose between a square…

Sticky, smelly, few ties. Waste of money

Immediately after unpacking, the tarpaulin gave off a strong smell of old camping gear. When unfolding, the tarpaulin stuck together in places. I had to pull with a little force to separate the fabric. After opening, the fabric remained quite sticky, especially on the underside. As things developed I let it hang sticky side up in my basement for a few days hoping the sticky stuff would heal or something and it would help, but it's still pretty sticky. leaves/branches/dirt stick to it but the…

Great budget canvas! Perfect for camping in a hammock or camping!

This is a great budget tarp! The item description lists the tarp as 10' x 10'; The finished size of my item was approximately 116.5 square inches (approximately 9.7 feet x 9.7 square feet). The material is lightweight 210T Dacron Ripstop with a waterproof coating. There is a large side seam in the middle that has been made well waterproof with some kind of tape. The hem and edges are beautifully double stitched. There are eight identical bindings (3 on each side as shown in the product…
