but a tool that doesn't work won't work for me

I've tried it on two different bikes and it doesn't seem to work. Imperfection of the glass tube near the edge. It's not red! It's bare aluminum. Doesn't feel or look cheap, but it doesn't look overly expensive either. solid quality I'm a big fan of Lisle tools and use them at work, but a tool that doesn't work doesn't work for me.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Works but requires a trick for optimal use

Just received and ran to the door to test it on my car. I initially noticed that the spark was rather weak, but then I thought about how it actually works. To make the spark visible, your body is used as a capacitive coupling to the frame of the car you are next to. So the conductivity between you and the instrument cap must be important. So I licked my fingers, grabbed the tool and tried again. Shining bright! If you have trouble, touch the end cap with wet fingers when checking the wire!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Great price

Made in USA - Spark Plug & Ignition Tools

I had to invest in a spark tester to troubleshoot my pickup truck that would not start and this tool really helped me identify the problem. I also have a built in tester, but I've found this tool useful when I need to quickly switch between connector wires. My built in tester can only be used on one spark plug at a time without turning the ignition off. I thought I only needed one tester, but have since changed my mind because I think you need both. In my opinion, an indispensable tool that…

Works on any car with plug wires, just don't drop the fragile bulb.

Great help in figuring out what's wrong with my 93 Buick LeSabre, found that the cylinder #6 cable isn't working. So I replaced the spark plug and the spark plug wire still wouldn't fire so I changed the ignition coil and it WORKS. I thought it was fuel injection, but the way it worked (chuffed) missed it a bit. The spool was very easy to change (2 screws), #3 on the spool worked but #6 on the same spool didn't. The other 2 coils (3 total) were fine. Very easy to use, took off a star because I…

very inexpensive and useful

Inductive; allows you to see the current from the coil through the wires to the connectors through a stronger or weaker flash. Check the coil wire and each connector wire without having to remove connectors or wires. You need other tools to get more specific results for specific parts. ; This tester is handy for the glove box or general tool box. Example: I found on my V8 that one wire/connector is weak and the other side has excessive crossover (current jumps through one wire's shield to…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
