This is what you need to keep less than 4 inches of liquid in the sump. Why they even offer the superficially identical RS-5 (no LL suffix) is beyond me, as any sane person would use a more reliable float switch for deeper sumps.

This switch has been working for about 6 months with no problems. "LL" in the product name means Low Level. This switch (RS-5-LL) activates when the water is 2-3 inches deep. This is a much lower water level than most other switches I've tried. In combination with the Little Giant drainage pump, it works well for draining water from the pool cover.

This may or may not be good for a drain pump as it has a narrow range ie when the pump is running the water level should drop about 2 inches before it shuts off My application is ideal. Instead of trying to tie it to the exhaust pipe, I attached it to a piece of heavy armor, which allowed me to move it up and down in the water jacket. After adjusting it the way I wanted it and securing it with three clamps, it works great.

This switch fits perfectly and easily with my Little Giant 5MSP pump. It worked exactly as it should: turn the pump on when the water level reached about 2 inches and turn it off at +-1 inch. It was DEFINITELY worth the extra money to get this low end derailleur instead of the regular RS5 which doesn't include a pump with up to 6-9 inches of water.
