Excellent - just as advertised.

Easy installation. Works exactly as described. Excellent price. What's not to love? A little tip - don't forget to turn the ceiling fan on "high" before turning off the wall switch to set the speed control. If you don't do this, you'll have to keep pulling the chain after installation to find out which position is 'up'.

Looks great, works well and is easy to assemble.

Bought a couple of these to upgrade our current light switch with a variable speed rheostat. Easy installation, everything is there. I'm not a DIYer and it only took me 15 minutes to remove the old switches and install the Lutron switches. The only difficulty I had was getting the light switch, rheostat and faceplate to fit properly. It took a little effort, but it worked out in the end. There's probably a trick that an experienced installer will know.

Quiet and works great

They are amazing. I originally bought one from Home Depot and the switch was $4 more. We wanted to make sure it works and runs quietly before we buy it for all of our fans. This requires extra space in the control box as the motor sticks out to the rear so you'll have to "creatively" thread the wires, but we've put that and a capped toggle switch on all terminals with some creative threading. If you need a fan dimmer, I highly recommend it. They're quiet (some motors hum a little from the…

Good speed controller

Same Lutron quality as expected. Installation is very easy and if you are unfamiliar with electrical work the installation guide is very clear. Ask an electrician for help if you don't know the basics of electricity. The controls are very easy to use. Lower OFF Slide the slider up to select low, medium, or high speed. I use this on a Hunter fan and leave the fan switch in the high position. There is no extra noise from the fan or switch when using. The fan runs at the same high speed as without

Pros
  • 3 speeds
Cons
  • The list is long.

Works well when using a dedicated circuit for the fan

Works well when controlling the fan with a dedicated circuit. I removed the remote control circuitry from the ceiling fan and connected the fan's power cord to this controller which is now responsible for controlling the electrical power fed to the fan. It works well, with three speeds and one off. For reasons I'm not sure, it also has the ability to reverse the fan and turn the fan on and off quickly. If I do this a few times, I can get the fan to change direction. I think it's a property of…
