We used a set of 10 and 1 extra extension to complete the entire project. To keep the cables out of sight we wired the unit behind the fridge, drilled some 3/4" holes in our cabinets to route the cables through the kitchen, clamped the connectors and excess cable with 10mm attached and used the command bars to assemble. Power supply and dimmer at the bottom of the cabinet. We are very happy with the end result. Goodbye battery power under the closet!

These are great lights. The only downside is that you have to use a splitter whether you need it or not. The cable does not connect directly to the power cord. The extension cord doesn't fit right either. The splitter cable takes up a lot of space when it needs to be rolled up and hidden under cabinets. We recently bought a new house and my wife's first project was a kitchen remodel. I chose these lamps for several reasons. I had the choice between a cable connection or a socket connection. I wired them as if they were ever unplugged or the outlet goes out then they lose their dimmer setting. The dimming function is convenient and easy to use. I installed these lights on a stacked bookshelf (lawyer's shelf) that I use as a gift cabinet. Narrow bookshelves are stacked one on top of the other, each with a glass door that lifts and slides into the shelf. We used them for the under kitchen cabinet lighting and placed them about 12 inches apart, the light is dimmer than expected but definitely bright enough, also a bit bluish not warm at all (daylight option ). We bought two sets, a set of four and a set of ten. A set of 10 comes with a splitter so we put them in our closet (above the built in microwave) and then drilled holes in our closets to let the wires through. We could do 80 percent of our cooking with that one fork. We chose 3M tape because it was sufficient and easy. We then used glue tabs to manage the cord and zip ties to hide the excess cord.
