Easy to use without helpers

I love how easy it is to install and remove. The magnetic handle makes it easy to adjust the angle, and the whole setup is solid and does the job perfectly.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

The Magbox starter kit was not a starter kit.

I was disappointed to find that the Magbox Kit requires Magmod Maggrip to work. I've never seen a hint that Maggrip is required to mount the flash to the magbox. I now have Maggrip and look forward to using Magbox. A kit is not a kit unless it includes all accessories.

No starter kit! good for lighting

Sorry, this is not a complete starter kit. I was very excited about this only to find out I need to buy a magnetic grip to connect my flashes. You cannot purchase the Maggrip separately as it is sold out. I have to buy another set to get the Maggrip, +$100!

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Get a pro kit, skip it!

Maybe it's my fault, but I didn't know that it would only be meat products and potatoes. The most important element (diffuser) is not included in the kit. I was just thinking of a case and no gels. Once we understood what was missing, it was easy to see that the Pro kit was the best option for the money.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • No achievement

GAME CHANGE FOR FLASH PHOTOS! BUY IT!

I've struggled with Flash for a while. I borrowed a MagBox from a friend and after just a few shots I was convinced. Good light for portrait photography. You need to buy a MagMod MagGrip to work with it ($25) and an off-camera flash trigger kit (if you don't have one) (they vary in price). Great purchase!

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I'll add later

Great design with portability and ease of use in mind

I've been monitoring the MagBox for a few months now. I want something that's really easy to work with in the field. I have used Westcott Rapidbox and other brands in the past. It's great, but the installation wasn't that easy. Now that I have a MagBox and a MagRing it's amazing how quickly I can set up my lights. I leave the MagRing attached to the MagBox and keep it in my pocket. I also figured out how to connect the MagBox to the MagRing that attaches to the MagShoe. It's a confusing…

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Great softbox easy to set up

I have worked with many softboxes (Wescott and many others) and am very impressed with the MagBox. Some of my thoughts are: 1) Quick installation 2) Good build and quality material 3) Sturdy 4) Versatile 5) Quality light output While it's expensive, I'd balance that with convenience if you're a photographer who carries and sets up a lot Gear. For me it was an easy decision. However, you need additional MagMod accessories to use it. Basically it's MagGrip so you can put your flashes in the…
