I have returned this item for a refund. Difficult to assemble nozzle. It is impossible to cut small thuja bushes with scissors. I will buy an autonomous cordless shears.

I installed this tool in under half an hour. It will be a permanent addition to a great tool. I have used this to trim my many hosta plants and some of my iris plants. It's not as clean as cutting by hand, but much faster.

Very, very bad instructions. Makita doesn't care about its customers. If they had clear instructions, they could be very brief. This would make it an easy build. Once assembled it works fine if you haven't already thrown it in the trash. Thank god for YouTube.

There are small parts that are easy to lose. Very difficult to assemble. This is because parts can be connected in different ways. Good luck finding the right path. This worked very well initially, but then the blades can bend and the device freezes. So you're trying to take it apart to align, clean and lubricate and you can't figure out how to align everything and if the part is right. Product engineers should never have released it for sale.

AGREE WITH OTHERS THAT THE MONTAGE IS THE DEVIL. FINALLY YOU UNDERSTAND BUT THE INSTRUCTIONS "PICTURED" LACK THE DETAILS NECESSARY TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO ORIENT THE PARTS. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE CAM IS ORIENTED DIFFERENTLY ON THE GRASS SHEARS THAN ON THE FRENCE SHEARS. BEFORE YOU BUY THIS, YOU CAN TRY TO USE THE GRASS SHIP AS A LIGHTWEIGHT HEDGE TRIMMER. YOU WILL WORK ON LIGHT GREEN GROWTH. I INSTALLED THE HEDGE TRIMMER ON MY OLD LXMU02 GRASS SHEAR THAT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED AND IT WORKS GREAT!
