Have been using them for over 9 years in my '01 325

I don't know why they are cheaper than dealers but visually they look the same to me. I change the oil every 8,000 km and the filter shows no signs of weakness. I will continue to use them as long as my 288,000 mile BMW is running.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

I bought a dealer filter for my 2003 E39 530i to compare and it is identical in every way. Color, material, end glazing, height and width, pleating. The only difference is the digital stamp and the product is made in Mexico. Supplied with O-ring and washer. Half the cost and without going to the salon. Thanks man and Revane!

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Discontinued

Not suitable! for spare parts

This filter WILL NOT FIT the 2006 BMW 330XI as advertised. I drained all the oil and threw away the old filter, cleaned everything and put new oil in when trying to put the filter in. It was A LOT big and didn't even have proper O-rings. I had to call Uber and they drove me 30 miles round trip to the nearest parts store to get the correct filter. Not that it fits, but it's not a 2006 BMW 330XI.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Ideal for 3 liter BMW M54 engine

Ideal filter for BMW M54 engines. I bought this filter for a 2005 BMW E53 X5 3.0i. I worked as a technician at a BMW dealership. Mann filters were the only filters we were allowed to use when BMW branded OEM filters were not available. As far as I know, Mann makes OEM filters for BMWs. Aside from the markings, this filter looks and feels like a real BMW filter. The filter cover O-ring and drain plug gasket are precisely matched to the size and material of the application.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Socket required

Great replacement OEM

I was reluctant to order this as it was a lot cheaper than OEM and at the same price or cheaper than a number of discount dealership brands. I did a little research and decided on this after reading a number of forum comments recommending it. When it arrived a few days later, it was well packaged and in perfect condition. Because BMW filters don't have a cap, I was able to compare the internal structure of the filters to some other filters I've seen in parts stores. Suffice it to say I'm glad I

  • Quality construction

  • Some faults

Long Term Test: BMW E85/E86 Z4 Direct Oil Filter Change

I bought this oil filter for my 2004 BMW Z4 (E85/E86) in 2011. It has lasted many years in combination with full synthetic oil and I plan to buy them forever. I do all the maintenance on my Z4 myself because I want to save money and make sure the job is done right. I went to my local dealer and the parts department told me the BMW OEM oil filter was this Mann filter. I convinced myself of this in the BMW forum. When I removed the old filter, it even matched the numbers perfectly! If you're even
