I'm glad it's available

That was way better than replacing the entire mechanism and only took a few seconds. Quite expensive for a small plastic part but would definitely buy again for the time saved.

Just what I needed in Rough Plumbing

Glad there is a spare for this rather than replacing the entire flush valve. Our original part broke and we urgently needed a replacement. This served the purpose and was easy to install.

If you need this part; nothing else will work.

What can I say? If you need this part; nothing else will work. The plastic top of the flush valve tower in Mansfield Model 160 toilets, which cracks over time. Best price with prime shipping I could find online.

Requires foam washer

This part does NOT include a foam washer on the bottom which is required to keep the flush valve open long enough. You can get the same part WITH FOAM for less at ACE hardware stores or online. It's called "Plastic Ace Stop Cap #4768388".

I've looked everywhere for this cap. First of all, I'm not a plumber and I won't be, but I could see what was wrong with my toilet. I checked under Mansfield and then under the cap. Wow, it appeared magical. glory to heaven. Problem solved. The disappointment is over and I know what to call it if it happens again in another toilet.

Before ordering a new plug, make sure you don't need a brand new flush valve!

Five stars because your toilet won't flush properly without this little thing, but honestly it's probably worth every penny. If anyone runs into the same problem we did, I'll provide a little background on why we needed a new one.
