Maxell 648720 Recording Surface with Premium Quality, 48x Write Speed, 700Mb Capacity, Printable White Matte Disc (100 Pack) Review

Two spindles 100 bought. I like the white surface but the Sharpie pulls on the surface. The marker sticks and is harder to write on than a normal CD surface or a lacquered surface. This sticker was meant to be printed, but for the price, I like the white finish better than the silver on other budget CDs.

I've been using these CDs regularly for about 2 years now and have found them very reliable - the recording process has never failed. I make about 5 copies a week on a 5 DVD/CD copier; albeit not a big one. The content is audio only (sermons in a small church). The matte finish works well with the Dymo DiscPainter CD/DVD Color Printer (1738260) and produces a fairly acceptable CD label. And at $0.19 each, you can't beat the price.

Had trouble with this since I first burned it. I sent it to my client and they came back and told me the CD was unreadable - the back was all scratched, almost melted or something. I'm not entirely sure if it wasn't due to searching the machines at the post office, but I've never had a problem with other brands of CDs. Also, they do NOT print to the middle! was very disappointed to find that the kernel wasn't printed and then couldn't be returned!

I did a lot of research on the name before buying, thinking it was a 500 CD box. DON'T MAKE YOURSELF LIKE ME! It's only 100 discs. The name makes it extremely confusing and there is no further help in the description or other customer reviews. This is a pack of 100 white top CDs. On the other hand, CDs are fine. OK, I'll admit. I bought them because of the price. Bad move. The package arrived and the plastic bubble covering the spindle and CD was broken, a bad sign. When I started burning mix discs that I sent as Christmas gifts, the burning process stopped halfway through and the Mac spat out the disc. .I tried to record on my Dell laptop and the same thing happened. These are inexpensive but powerful CD-Rs. The packaging is sufficient. Sometimes the spindle can break at the base with so many CD-Rs stuffed on it. Luckily it was good. The ink from my Disc Painter adheres well to the surface. However, for best results, allow the ink to dry before attempting to use CDs. I bought these blank printable CDs at a bargain price. I am satisfied with the product, trust them and have worked without any problems. We have used them in our church to record services and sermons and they have worked great. No complaints yet. The only problem was the packaging, the spindles arrived cracked and broken. For some reason, audio CD burning is still a fragile process. If any part of the process doesn't meet the requirements, you'll get audio errors on your CD. I burned CDs using the "slow" setting in Windows Media Player to avoid errors. It seems like every CD I've burned from this set has about four errors per CD, out of every five or six CDs. These CDs cost less than the Verbatim brand CDs (they are excellent) and appear to be just as good. I've had 100% success on both the recording side (data and music) and the printing side. I strongly recommend using printable CDs for labeling. Lightscribe is dead (too expensive and slow), and applying paper labels is too manual, expensive, and dangerous (adhesive wears out eventually). 05/22/2012 I have now used the CDs several times and reordered them.
