Solid support. Does not restrict mobility

I bought this to wear to golf and practice after breaking my ankle. I would not wear the Immobilization Boot and I would not end my active life. With this brace/sleeve, there was just enough compression and lateral support for me to play golf and lift weights comfortably. After about 4 weeks the swelling and pain subsided and I no longer needed a corset. Went like clockwork

Sizing and Fit - Medical Supplies and Equipment

I wear size 10.5 shoes, usually wide, and bought a medium ankle length. The fit is snug but not too tight. It doesn't block blood flow but I wish it was a little tighter. Actually I would like to try the small size but I think it will be too small so I'll stick with the medium size. I'm glad I didn't get a large one as it would certainly have been huge for me. If you have any questions just ask them in the comments and I will try to answer quickly.

Good for what it is

McDavid makes very good products. This ankle support is what they call "level 1 protection" or almost no protection. It's more of a compression bandage than anything else. My podiatrist recommended that I switch to one of these products as I complete treatment for a sprained peroneal tendon and begin to ramp up my training (I'm a runner and have twisted my ankle too many times). These shoes run small. I wear a men's size 9 and this size is enough to provide decent compression. For those who are

They hurt and wear out quickly

I've bought these from Mc David before and they're not nearly as good as they used to be. You're already dressed and out. Why on earth they had to add a stitch to finish, an object that doesn't need finishing, at the top of the foot above the arch is beyond me. Because most who will be using them already have high arches and it just causes unnecessary headaches. Very disappointed. Now I'm looking for old ankle braces. Now they were the best ever.

The previous ones I've used have been excellent, but unfortunately,

I use knee pads to compensate for the arthritic weakness in my ankle. The previous ones I've used were just excellent, but unfortunately ACE has stopped doing those blue wonders. I turned to McDavid after purchasing great knee pads from them. Unfortunately, this ankle cuff is clumsily stitched and therefore has an uncomfortable fit that leaves too much room around the ankle despite the fact that the cuffs are quite tight. I feel that if I go down a size it fits better around the ankle but cutsโ€ฆ

In the spring of 2011 I had a second degree sprain. Since the spring I have had regular pain in my feet and ankles. When I put pressure on the affected area, I feel great relief. I usually use the Mueller Adjustable Ankle Stabilizer, black, one size. The pressure that the Mueller ankle brace applies is adjustable with straps, which is a very nice feature. However, Muller's corset is bulky and uncomfortable when worn with dress shoes. I was glad to meet this neoprene support. It appeared smoothโ€ฆ
