Chefs will love it!

Excellent quality with a good range of grits if you do a lot of knife work. Just a little effort to bring a "hopeless" old favorite knife back to life! The "holding bowl" is non-slip and a very nice feature, and using water means MUCH less mess than rocks soaked in oil.

I solved my problems with hand tools

I had a manual sharpener that gnawed at my knife blades but this one sorts them very well. Works exactly as I expected. You may need to get another block with a finer grit, but first let's see how the knives perform with just these two grit sizes. It takes about 10-15 minutes for each knife to smooth out all the horrible nicks.

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Wears out quickly and clogs

I've used this stone three times to sharpen a knife and now the 400 grit side feels the same as the 1000 grit side. The stone doesn't silt up like my stone The King 1200 does, and presumably it will be polished more and more to the point of being unusable. Needless to say I'm very disappointed to have found this out just past the return deadline so I'll stick with it for now. I have soaked the stone for an hour before each use and kept moist during use and under the same conditions my King…
