I highly recommend these boots. As a former search and rescue worker with thousands of miles in my boots in my past, I know what I like and what works for me: supportive yet flexible, with a stiff sole and toe box, and plenty of toe room. They must also match my orthotics/insoles. These boots are great for that. I doubt I will!

I bought them a week before my trip to the Rocky Mountains and barely broke them in, but haven't used them at all. Took her on a 7 mile high altitude hike through the mountains with no pain or blisters. I also really like the sage color. I have never spent so much money on shoes but they are worth it. Excellent grip on rocky terrain. Hacking wasn't necessary. Conveniently right out of the box. Lightweight, wide toe and waterproof. I usually wear 8W with custom orthotics. I use insoles and medium hiking socks, so I chose the size up to 8.5W. Ideal! Ideal for people with plantar fasciitis. No chafing, no sore feet after 5 miles up and down the mountain.

The fit is great! I bought shoes in the size I normally wear (5-5.5) and they have everything I need and room for foot swelling. They are super comfy and don't need to be broken! I wore them right out of the box for a 4-5 mile hike and had no discomfort or blisters! I haven't tested the waterproofness yet, but I recommend it anyway. The gray color in real life is a little darker than the online picture, but the blue is bright and beautiful.

In winter with cooler temperatures and snow, thicker socks are best, it is highly recommended to wear socks just above the ankle.
