Great boot, comfortable yet durable!

I highly recommend these boots. As a former search and rescue worker with thousands of miles in my boots in my past, I know what I like and what works for me: supportive yet flexible, with a stiff sole and toe box, and plenty of toe room. They must also match my orthotics/insoles. These boots are great for that. I doubt I will!

Pros
  • Waterproof: GORE-TEX
Cons
  • Functionality

These boots have made me a lifelong customer

I bought them a week before my trip to the Rocky Mountains and barely broke them in, but haven't used them at all. Took her on a 7 mile high altitude hike through the mountains with no pain or blisters. I also really like the sage color. I have never spent so much money on shoes but they are worth it. I expect you to use them for several years.

Pros
  • Faux Leather
Cons
  • Some little things

Love love love Merrell!

Excellent grip on rocky terrain. Hacking wasn't necessary. Conveniently right out of the box. Lightweight, wide toe and waterproof. I usually wear 8W with custom orthotics. I use insoles and medium hiking socks, so I chose the size up to 8.5W. Ideal! Ideal for people with plantar fasciitis. No chafing, no sore feet after 5 miles up and down the mountain.

Pros
  • Closure: laces

Great hiking shoes!

The fit is great! I bought shoes in the size I normally wear (5-5.5) and they have everything I need and room for foot swelling. They are super comfy and don't need to be broken! I wore them right out of the box for a 4-5 mile hike and had no discomfort or blisters! I haven't tested the waterproofness yet, but I recommend it anyway. The gray color in real life is a little darker than the online picture, but the blue is bright and beautiful.

Pros
  • Insole: M Select Fit.Eco+ (EVA Blend)
Cons
  • Nothing Here

Took me to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro

So glad I got these boots for my Mt Kili hike. I've tried on at least 20 pairs of Merrell hiking shoes. and other brands before I settled on this one. Its outsole is the softest of any boot (this is my personal preference) yet has strong support around the sole and ankles. And the fit is the best. They hardly need to be broken in. After 7 days on Kili walking 8-10 hours a day I've been up and down successfully - no pain, no ankle injury, no blisters thanks to these boots. really waterproof - Iโ€ฆ

PERFECT - RECOMMEND

History time. My friend and I planned a 6 mile hike. When I received these shoes I decided to break them in after running 4 miles. They didn't have to be broken in. They were very comfortable and supported my arches. No friction and enough space to swell my feet. Now for the hike. These boots have saved me several times. Eventually we landed on wet and slippery rocks. With some slime, I lost traction for a second, but the shoe found traction immediately. There was also a moment when my foot hit

Pros
  • Lining: Mesh
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Ideal for hiking in the wet

I wear a 9.5 wide. I've had these boots for about 1/2 year and I'm happy with them. In winter with cooler temperatures and snow, thicker socks are best, it is highly recommended to wear socks just above the ankle. In the summer a shorter sock can be used but on the thinner side remember to tighten the laces a bit as there is a bit of wiggle room I found in foot and sock selection. The boots handle wet terrain very well, I don't even bother walking through muddy spots or even puddles anymoreโ€ฆ

Merrell Moab 2 Mid GTX have lost their luster

First let me tell you a little about the Merrell Moab GTX line, Merrell made the best value hiking shoes with little or none run-in time ago . When they moved production to China, the product steadily declined. I have been a loyal customer for 15-20 years and have bought 5 different Merrell Moab GTX sets for my family over the years, with model names changing over the years. .But in the last 3 years the quality has gone from mediocre to depressing. The outsole is peeling off the case on theโ€ฆ

BEST HIKING BOOTS

Last month I went to the Roan Highlands in North Carolina with my Merrell Blaze Eros which are great water hiking boots but were failing on rocky mountain hikes because my ankles were spinning and curling up like crazy, so I knew I needed more support. I have a couple of Columbias but they were stiff and just didn't fit. These Merrels matched my Blaze in color and style, so I took the plunge and bought them. I literally couldn't keep silent about these boots the whole trip. As you can see myโ€ฆ
