Description of Seachem MetroPlex Metronidazole - Effective Treatment for Parasites and Bacteria in Saltwater and Freshwater Aquariums

Does not adversely affect the filter bed and is easily removed with carbon. Will treat both internal and external infections regardless of the delivery method. Can either be dosed into the water or combined with Focus in a medicated food mix. An effective and safe treatment for several protozoan and anaerobic bacterial diseases of fish. When used in a medicated food mix, it is excellent for treating parasites in tanks that contain invertebrates.

It has helped.: Fish and Aquatic Animals

It has helped rid my Oscar of a white fungal hole in his head (along with major water changes and decokes) so I am not sure if played a big part but he's gone, that's the main thing.

Pros
  • Effective and Safe Cure for Several Protozoal and Anaerobic Bacterial Fish Diseases
Cons
  • Safety

Helped Oskar fix a hole in the head

I was afraid to try this but it really helped our Oskar. he got holes in his head and after the third dose his holes healed and the little ones closed completely. I would buy again when it runs out.

Pros
  • Doesn't damage the filter sheet and is easily removed with charcoal
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Good Product - Aquarium Water Treatments

I used this as a first aid for my fish. When I added new fish to my aquarium. I've never had any issues with its safety. I use garlic and seachem binder to feed it to my fish as I can imagine it's not very palatable to my fish, but using garlic and waiting to be fed during the day helps them absorb it wolf down. I've also used it on sick fish over the years and it works great.

Pros
  • Can be dosed into water or mixed with Focus in Therapeutic Food Mix
Cons

Best Reef Safe

Love this thing! My black eye developed Brooklynella and used this treatment for 3 weeks as recommended. He cured the disease as described without harming any of my corals or invertebrates. I have frog spawn, torch, duncan, zoa, and leather cabbage, as well as mint shrimp, emerald crab, and turbo slugs. It didn't harm them at all! I would highly recommend this to anyone needing aquarium treatment that a hospital aquarium does not have or is unavailable!

Pros
  • Ideal for treating parasites in invertebrate aquariums when used in a therapeutic feed mix
Cons
  • Useless Features

Review for use in Rosacea

Metronidazole is FDA classified as an antiprotozoal and antibacterial. Metrogel is a topical prescription medication containing 0.75% to 1% concentration of metronidazole that is used to treat inflammation caused by rosacea. Unfortunately, getting a prescription for topical rosacea treatment can be difficult, and even the cost of a single medication can be prohibitive. It can be difficult to get insurance to cover the cost of topical prescriptions unless someone has very severe rosacea, but…

Pros
  • Treats both internal and external infections regardless of method of administration
Cons
  • No Directions
