Microphone＆Privacy Megapixel Computer Streaming Plug＆Play Review

Hi folks - It has been 6 months since the original purchase. For some reason the microphone just stopped working and the computer didn't recognize the microphone. I switched to an old webcam and everything works fine. Most likely, I will not replace the webcam with another bitrun.

The description says it doesn't work, but I have Ubuntu 18.04 in stock and it doesn't work properly. I was able to capture some frames at 640x480 but the color channels were wrong and it was throwing UVC errors like there was no tomorrow. There are so many good cameras out there these days that this one is a thing of the past. PS Maybe. a good clue was that the description of linux is misspelled!

We are using Zoom, Google Meets etc more and more and my desktop computer doesn't have a built in camera. I'm so happy with it. Image quality is good. The built-in microphone gives clear sound. It has a privacy screen, but we turn it off when not in use. I wish the camera base was a little heavier. You'll need to prop it up a bit on the shelf. Overall good value for money.

. I was very disappointed to learn that it cannot be mounted on a standard tripod mount. the threads are wrong. I wish I had known that back in August because I would have returned it and found another camera. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get this working, which will likely incur additional costs.

Disappointed with the sound; It's worse than using my laptop's microphone. The video is widescreen if you use 1080P; If the program doesn't record at this resolution, it uses the center of the image, so it enlarges it more. The picture is good but the colors are boosted, super bright and look fake; The auto white balance works well, adjusting in about 1-2 seconds as the lighting changes. We use Zoom twice a week for our services and my kids have regular Zoom parties due to COVID and this camera and mic are AWESOME! This is our third camera/mic because the quality of the mic is not very good. We're sitting at the dining table and the computer is on the zoom table and when we want to comment on something this mic works great and everyone in the zoom can hear us clearly. Wonderful camera. I am very happy with the quality. To be honest I was really surprised how great it was. It was beautifully packaged and intact. The seller wrapped the camera in stickers to prevent scratching the product and kept it in a protective pouch inside the box. Very safe and very well made.
