Works great with a little modification.

These are great for a water loving 2 year old grandson who has only recently discovered that toilets are an easy source of water. We have two different size toilet bowls, and lockable lids are easy to install on both. I came up with my own solution for the gap created when the lid is lifted. I cut some pads from a pair of 98 cent Walmart flip flops and glued them onto the zippers. One toilet only needed one, and the other needed a double stack. This modification changed the 1" gap to a 1/4"…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • A few little things

It actually works as intended when properly installed.

I almost bought it because of the video of the kid just pulling it off the seat. After I bought it, I pretty much realized that whoever made this video didn't install it properly. It comes with a set of plastic spacers that you need to attach to it so it fits snugly to the toilet. When the lid is closed, it does not come off in any way. It's disappointing that it doesn't conform to the lid. So if, like me, you have flimsy toilet lids, your child will still force people to lift the lid just…

Works well and does its job.

I only need two seals for one toilet and four for the other. There are only two seals on the toilet, my daughter will not climb in. On the other hand, she can if she tries, but she needs enough effort to give me time to catch! lol. The one with more padding doesn't fit as tightly and can slide forward, which is enough to loosen it. But it does its job well, I don't see a way to make it any better, unless they come in sizes one and two (for narrow and wide rims), so only a spacer or two is…

Works quite well with a little attention.

We installed these locks on both of our toilets when my son started walking and we noticed he was taking an interest in opening the toilet lid and splashing water inside. They worked about as well as I could have expected. About a week after installation, he practically lost interest in spraying toilets. It's true if you apply enough force in the right place and your little one is actually dangling from them, they can break. My suggestion: just keep them from picking the locks when you're in…

Easy install, works well

Despite the mixed reviews for this toilet lock, I bought two to match the fairly standard toilets in my house. Installation took less than two minutes and I had no problem reaching for the toilet to complete the installation. You don't have to get dirty in the water or otherwise get too close to the dirt. Even a little soap and water can go a long way if you're not too picky about poop (if you have kids and haven't gotten rid of it yet...you could have OCD). I am sure that in some situations…
