Great for plasma cutting

Great product! The case is reliable, nothing leaks. I have this filter after two dryers, I only rely on this filter to remove submicron oil mist and dirt. It gets the job done, I have no streaks or marks on Hypertherm plasma cutting supplies and they literally last forever. I also don't expect to have to change the filter often as it stays dry. If you are using this filter to remove moisture and dirt/oil mist you may be changing the filter quite often leaving water trapped in the filter housing

M-60 was excellent, but.

I have to give this one 5 stars. It's really great and does a great job. I also have 2m-30 and I can't get them to flow. Even my replacement ran out. I say that because they are identical down to the location of the ports and their size (even the filter element). They clearly have a manufacturing issue on the line that produces the m-30, likely due to porosity or surface finish. However, I repeat that this did not affect the M-60, which I am specifically considering here. I felt compelled to…

Excellent quality filter, poor inlet/outlet position

I first bought an m30 motor protection filter for my newly purchased plasma cutter and shortly thereafter decided to add extra filtration and a dehumidifier. I've only used my plasma cutter a couple of times but so far the Motorguard filter stays clean and dry but is designed to capture any dust or moisture particles after the drying filter. My only regret is that I didn't buy a 1/2 inlet model, I bought a 1/4. I'm only saying this because the inlet and outlet are very close together at the…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Almost OK

This is a very economical solution to removing the last of the water particles from the air supply system and reducing filtration from micron sized ones Particles from the air supply before they reach the instrument after passing through a conventional particle filter and air dryer. If you really need the driest, cleanest air for painting or anything else that requires clean air, it's a good idea to install it at the end of your dryer and filter system to ensure all moisture is removed and the…

Great filter, just give it a try.

You will not receive a broken/cracked unit. I am concerned that Clinton R. Webb (see 1 star review May 23, 2013) may have received this defective unit after I sent it back(?). Anyway, here's a repost and summary of my comment I left on Clinton's #1. excellent rating. Hope this helps others. In January 2013 I installed this M-60 filter and it was leaking. I used 1/2" copper tubing for my air connections/piping so at first I thought I had bad solder, a leak near the filter outlet. Air through…
