Enhanced Performance Vacuum Advance Distributor with Electronic Ignition for VW Beetle by Kuhltek Motorwerks (0231170034EL) Review

Was disappointed with the mechanical performance of this distributor. Follow the instructions but the progress was very jittery with my flash. Unfortunately they returned the money, I had high hopes.

I bought this 034EL distributor on February 3 Kuhlteck was a brand. Installed on 4/7. Drove 8 km into town by car along the city streets. The vacuum diaphragm failed and the idle increased like an open vacuum leak. I have installed many of these type 034 distributors, the electronic module was fine, I had to close the vacuum line to the carburettor with a screw and hobble on it. this swindle lasted less than half an hour.

This is the second Kuhltek I have ordered this year. The first had a vacuum advance block that let air through. It took forever to find her. So far it has not been possible to find a replacement for the vacuum unit. The second pickup on the front panel rubbed the screw. Fixed and found the time after car warm up was erratic. Bind the weights as the metal expands! Poor quality control and workmanship. Save your money and get a decent dealer for a few bucks more.

I will be returning Electronic Glasses Distributor for the second time. The first lasted about 3 miles. The second distributor lasted about 70 miles and I replaced the coil and it still ran intermittently for about a mile and then stalled and restarted after a 45 minute cool down period - to repeat the process. I was happy with the easy return. I hope that the problem will be solved, because the engine ran noticeably better with electronic switches.

I ordered a vacuum conveyor but the first delivery was a centrifugal conveyor packed in a vacuum box. Revain did an excellent job of providing me with the correct product free of charge almost immediately after my return request. The replacement was correct and installed easily with an o-ring from my original dealer.
