This thing works great,

This whistle works great, no more 180 degree outs or guesswork. I used the correct size fittings from an old spark plug fitting compression test kit and have been in service. This is an essential tool for any gear head.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Working speed

Works great on 350sbc and 454bbc

Finding top dead center yourself can sometimes take a long time and often you get 180. I made two motors within 30 minutes of opening the box and they worked PERFECTLY. 10/10 it is recommended to use at least 350 small blocks or 454 large blocks. It stops whistling around the TDC and you just have to align the timestamps. Exactly what I was looking for.

Pros
  • Original Mr. Gasket
Cons
  • Not sure

Unfortunately unusable

The problem isn't the whistle (which works great) or the TDC whistle concept. In fact, the hose is too "flexible" - if you shove it down a deep spark plug well, it just wasn't possible to screw it into the spark plug thread. In contrast, the spark plug air adapter that was part of the leak test kit screwed nicely into the same spark plug wells. I ended up using an endoscope to visually check the OT and now it's garbage. If you have plugs that aren't countersunk this might work for you…

Pros
  • Strong and durable
Cons
  • No instructions
