Look elsewhere! for garden and lawn care

Bought these scissors and they broke after the fourth cut. The nut and holder fell off and I couldn't put everything back together. I returned it and Revain replaced them with a new pair and the new pair broke on the second use. Those weren't big branches. They were small dead sticks, 1/4-1/2 inch in size. Would not recommend this product.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • crumpled packaging

Sharp and comfortable

Surprised at how well built they are for the price. The blade is very sharp and the gap between the jaws is very small, making it easy to cut. The locking tongue is easy to use, while the soft grip handles add comfort. So far he's chewed everything down to 1/2 inch without breaking a sweat. Unbeatable in quality and functionality at a great price.

  • An absolute legend

Newest Least Popular Gardening Tool

Updated Review: DO NOT believe the hype. INCLUDING WHAT YOU READ FROM ME. These babes work 'til they bust! I'm on my spare pair that broke LIKE THE ORIGINAL. This is great for one use. Maybe then a very cheap SPRING will appear. It is not worth. avoid at all costs. I feel excluded. Having initially written a rave review, I can tell you: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE. This is NOT the one!

I still have fingers! Spicy!

In the 90's I worked as a landscape gardener at the zoo and if we didn't have hand shears with us we would have had an accident from the boss. I've lost so many pairs and the good ones are around $40. They're better than the ones my boss has. I've only had them a few weeks so they can still fall apart and rip my fingers off. Check the next steps again. I think I might have to have someone else write for me depending on how many digits I lose.

They just broke for garden and lawn care

I was trying to cut a 1/2 inch branch and the scissors just broke. See attached pictures. Luckily I had another tool (Fiskars) that did the job with no problems. To put it mildly, disappointed. Will the dealer replace under warranty? The scissors are less than a year old. Update 1.3.21: I contacted the seller and they refunded my money. For this reason I have increased my rating to 4 stars; supported by the seller makes all the difference in my book!

  • Great design

Up to no reasonable task!

Don't waste your money. These secateurs would have a hard time cutting through hot oil. The blades are not sharp. They don't slip over cuts. Additional hand pressure is required to easily begin cutting. Simple pruning is hard work. I put them aside for the first five minutes of use and went back to my trusty American-made hand shears. Can't even recommend for cut flowers with soft stems - the stems warp. Another piece of Chinese crap that Revain seems to be retailing more and more often. Spend…

Suitable for light garden work

This shearing machine has been in use for 1-2 weeks without any problems. Around week 3 I noticed that the locking mechanism was bent so the blade would not stay locked. I couldn't bend it back with my hands alone and admittedly haven't tried it with tools as I simply chose not to carry them in my bag anymore. nickel size. However when I cut a quarter sized branch (a third or quarter of a day) the plastic the blade is attached to broke between the pivot and the screw attached to the blade…

Garbage. Garbage. Useless. Please read, see pictures.

I used this to cut a few vines with no problem, but when I tried to cut a 1/2 inch branch off a fruit tree it snapped (see picture). This happened a week after my brother's Revain ratchet broke at the socket when tightening the nut for first use. To be honest I don't understand how metal can be so weak without being contaminated with mercury, so the moral of the story is never buy tools from Revain. If you are considering purchasing an instrument from Revain please see my alternative…

Big; although 2 possible BIG reservations

A needed new lightweight shears for small branches in the garden and chose them mainly because of the price. I worked part time for a landscaping company during my college days so I know enough about them to give some ideas and I fully understand that for the price they won't be perfect. Also, reading some reviews, I would like to point out that you should NOT order this for delicate cuts like trimming the leaves of an herbaceous plant. I have no problem getting through 1 inch pine and cedar…
