I hesitated between a two and a three, but since it charges the battery properly I gave it a three. Why now only three stars and not more. The device gets too hot when charging such a small battery. I have previously purchased a Summit Racing battery holder. It worked fine but interfered with radio reception in my house when connected to the network. I saw that it had an FCC tag, so I thought maybe it was "clean" and secluded. Turns out it's at least as bad, if not worse, than the Summit Racing unit. I have been using the SLA version for several years to service 12v 7 or 9Ah batteries in 9x6x3 cases in RV Park's mesh array. I bought this from Revain along with a Shorei LiFePO4 battery for my bike. These battery types require a charging voltage of 3.6V per cell or 14.4V for a 12V battery. The specifications for this charger state that the bulk charge will be carried out at a constant current of 2.0 amps until the voltage reaches 14.1 volts. Plug and Play. Plug in and connect to battery. I like the extra clamps that allow me to permanently connect a wire harness to a battery. If I then temporarily need a charger somewhere else, I can use the alligator clips on this battery. The charger has a non-reversible plug. Makes it stupid proof.
