Description of MSD 8225 HEI Ignition Coil

The coil is a direct replacement of the stock coil and offers increased spark energy when used with the MSD HEI module, PN 83647. The coil features special low-inductance, high-temperature windings which charge faster to give you increased spark energy at high RPM. OBD II and CARB approved and legal for use in all states. Coil mounts directly in place of factory style with improved performance.

Outstanding Ignition Performance

I recently upgraded this ignition coil in my automotive and I couldnt be happier with the results. As my tests showed, the MSD 8225 HEI Ignition Coil delivers smooth and consistent power to THE spark plugs resulting in improved acceleration and overall engine performance .It's a great investment for any automotive enthusiast looking to maximize their engine's potential. My only con is that it's a bit pricier than other options, but the quality and performance definitely justify the cost..

Pros
  • Improves engine performance by generating a stronger spark for more efficient combustion.
Cons
  • May require additional modifications to the ignition system for proper installation.

Not the MSD I remember.

MSD has slipped over the years, the Chinese marked ground wire from the spool has been pinched and frayed from the packaging, and the binding posts have been soldered where they needed to be placed in the groove on the spool of the MSD -Cover. I replaced the coil, module, rotor and cap with MSD parts. It works, but honestly I haven't noticed any improvement over genuine Delco parts for the money invested.

Pros
  • Replacement Parts
Cons
  • A slightly torn
