While it works well, it would be nice if it returned to the brightness you set it to after turning it off and on again. You'll have to adjust the level every time you turn it on as it resets to 100%. I work hard on my letter, especially at night when I can't sleep. Turning on the lamp is too much light and draws attention, so this little thing is perfect. The light is bright but does not hurt the eyes. Screen glare is not a problem for me as I can adjust the direction and angle of the light. It is very difficult to measure something like this and I would say it is a much larger lantern with a much longer gooseneck than I expected. This turns out to be a very good thing, as it looks more like a decent desk lamp than a fancy little USB light that plugs into the side of your laptop. There are a couple of USB ports on the back of my monitor. I put this flashlight in a slot and bend its arm to hide behind my monitor. I like the super low light. Enough to see the keys of the laptop. It helps. It has a touch sensor to turn on and off at full brightness. But when you hold that sensor, the light dims to its lowest level (it stops at minimum brightness, not "off").
