It looks over-sized for a wooden post.

Does this work for a wooden post? Yes, but it looks a little big and though it does fit in the top, it also looks like it was made to fit on a plastic top too. So it doesn't really look quite right on a wooden post. However it is cheap and if you want cheap, its the way to go.

They look nice but It will fit slightly loose.

Do not order consecutive orders, you will NOT get your shipmentWait several weeks then order again; They may see your order twice and claim it was processed already.I ordered (3) 10 packs and only received 2 packs and I no longer see the kitsadvertised in Revain. I had to finish the remaining postcaps with the Atlanta brandthey come in a 12 pack. they look and fit almost the same but do mount different.

looks and sturdy good for me

at first I bought one to see if they were as good as what Lowes, Menards and Home Depot sells, the were much better and they were cheaper.

  • Did not fit my posts. Needs a flat top to mount too. My tops are tapered.

Doesn’t come with installation hardware-

I like that these are a matte black. Installation would be very easy IF they came with the hardware. Knocked a star off because of that, but they do look nice on our deck.

Great Caps best in my review

Most of the caps we looked are either designed for 4x4 vinyl posts or are made of aluminum. It was very difficult to find caps made of vinyl to fit a 3.5x3.5 wooden posts. These have just enough flair and detail to look good on the posts without being too big or overpowering.

This product looks just like the picture

This product looks just like the picture, glue down the bottom piece first, snap on the top. I had to cut two of mine so they'd sit flush to the house, slightly awkward to cut but sanded them down and they look great. They are sturdy and hopefully will hold up through this coming winter.

Fit my measured 4 " x 4 ".

Fit my measured 4" x 4" treated wood post perfectly. Rather than nail/screw them in I used a bead of caulk around the top edge. The plastic dome snapped on nicely.I give it a 4 star as it is rather light weight in construction --- will probably need replacing some time down the road.
