Just what I needed in computer accessories and peripherals

Holds a Dell R710 well. I have a rack with threaded holes and didn't want to spend Dell branded rails and adapters to make them work. This versatile track set is a great alternative.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Modern

Great budget solution for Apple Xserve

Bought to rack mount my Apple Xserve in early 2008 which had internal rails but hard to find real external rails. This may be a temporary fix as I've read that Dell Ready Rails might also work but haven't looked for it. So far so good with the bracket. Pretty simple, just 4 screws per side and adaptable to your rack. Then 4 pieces each for the grate. Some things I didn't really like: The box wasn't sealed very well, so someone could just take it and I'd end up with an empty box or somethingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Nothing

Good rails, missing parts, dealer support needs revising

The rails appear to be well made and should work if they came with all the parts. The package I received turned out to be a returned rail kit missing the 5mm mounting screws and rack screws. I contacted Navepoint support. They responded and tried to help, but in the first round I only got rack screws, not 5mm screws. Today I received 2 screws which were not black 5mm screws but some sort of silver rack type screws. I will be returning for a replacement kit from Revain and will update the review

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Just received these rails and they are perfect for supporting a Dell R510 console in a 2 post rack. All you have to do is fold over the rear segment of the two-piece rail so that it compresses both sides of the rack, which consists of two vertical strips of sheet metal spaced 3 inches apart with square holes running the length of them. To cantilever a server on a 2-post rack, you need a rack type with 2 sheet metal strips with square holes per post, 3 inches apart. The design of these guides is

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Cheap junk is good for computer accessories and peripherals

Poor design for custom depth racks. There are no instructions on the packaging. One of the screws connecting the front half and back half of one of the shelves was partially filled on arrival, there were no extras. I think I get for a bargain purchase. I haven't tried calling support, it's not worth turning a screw if none of the holes line up properly.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Almost never

Sturdy but missing some parts

These rack mounts easily hold my monster, a full 24 bay server. Passes my exam on that alone as I can hardly get the server up on my own. However, there are only 6 screws to connect the front and back while there are 6 holes on each side of the rack, which I found very strange. It all holds up great, but I'd rather have a full set of screws with me.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Exterior

Great all round alternative to buying rails for your 4 post racks OEM

So sometimes buying real rails is just too expensive or time consuming. This is a good alternative. They form wings in your 4-post rack that any 1U or 2U server can move. They can snag a bit, but after a little flexing, the servers slide back and are well supported. It is now apparent that the OEM rails hold up better and slide more smoothly. But I found that I rarely deleted servers and needed nifty guides that can cost many times more than regular guides. And if I need to delete servers, it's

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Mixed pack of computers and accessories

If you only have a couple of servers for home use, they work great and do their job. It's pretty stable in 1u block support and obviously doesn't slide. So if you have a server or two and don't plan on leaving the plugin behind when swapping parts, it works. However, this is completely useless if you want to use Hotawap components that require you to fetch the server.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Unreliable

Ideal for light applications!

Very easy to assemble, only takes a second with all the parts. Well built and simple! However, these are not the strongest splints I have worked with. After about a month I noticed that the weight of my posts was causing the rails to sag a few degrees. I haven't tried racks with multi-RPM style hard drives, batteries/power supplies, or anything heavier, and I don't think I will given what I'm seeing with the simple traditional weight of a home PC . If you use them for light 1u-2u applicationsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Few competitors

  • Not sure
