Finally, the 813 NB shoes offer us a strap that is so long that you can trim it along the cut lines to get it to the right length! Bravo! I changed the width from Medium to Wide (D) and now my toes have room to wiggle when strapped in instead of tightness and red pressure points. This width and regular arch make this shoe ideal for walking. The black color with straps suits even more chic occasions. Your legs will thank you!

The design of the shoe has changed from the 812 model. There is now a seam that runs across the toe causing chafing and blistering. Shoes are made cheaper, especially in the area where valves need to be tightened. The one piece used to be part of the shoe, now it's a plastic piece that probably won't last long. I have been buying this particular shoe in a size 7.5 for at least 10 years. I know my returns window closed in early June but due to Covid 19 and no way out I still haven't had to try on these new shoes. They are uncomfortable TOO SMALL I won't be able to use them because they fit so poorly. Velcro straps make this shoe easy to put on and the leather upper is very nice. However, the sole is stiff and inflexible, which makes walking in them not very comfortable. Also, the arch is oddly shaped, offering no useful support and somewhat misplaced support. I prefer lace-up running shoes, which are harder to put on but comfortable to walk in.
