I don't recommend. I love making egg cubes for salads, but the base is too small to hold a large egg in the correct cutting direction (i.e. pointed end to hinge). In addition, cleaning is hardly possible because egg splinters accumulate under the cutting wires. I'll throw it away after I learn my lesson and buy a plastic version of the spoiled cook.

We had the exact same egg slicer and it worked great for many years. Of course, air-to-ground testing usually takes a toll on such elements, and we had to find a substitute. Unfortunately, we couldn't find an exact replacement in town. Raven comes to the rescue. We swore it's the first we've had in years and the replacement is a replica. In our opinion, this is an amazing egg slicer that gets the job done time and time again. To need? Get this. I am sure you will like it.

Excellent slicer. It's durable and the blades are solid, unlike the flimsy ones you buy at the big store. I don't understand the complaints about cleanliness. If you rinse it immediately after use, it's so easy to clean, especially in the dishwasher! The egg may be sticky. So if you leave it out, the few pieces that might be left are likely to get stuck. Bought to replace the cheap plastic thing I've had for a few years that has horribly rusty wires. It's very hard to find a slicer that does slices and wedges, this one seemed perfect and it is. I think I'll have it for a while, very impressed with the weight, stainless steel construction and general durability, it belongs in a professional kitchen but only costs a penny more than a cheap flimsy plastic model. I'm all for hard boiled eggs and when my Kitchenaid slicer went to the 99 . Wow what a disappointment. If you're hard-boiling medium or small eggs, this can be a great cut. When I first took it out of the box I was surprised at how heavy and durable the unit is. The metal covers are SOLID and the device doesn't feel cheap. However, I have a few problems with this device. 1) It is very difficult to clean. Products get stuck in the lower (black) part and because of the transverse ribs at the very bottom, they are not washed in the dishwasher or under running water. 100% of the time I have to take a paring knife and pick out each of the pieces of food. annoying! 2) I
